“We track the movements of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang during his visit to Korea in real time, along with the stock price movements of Korean listed companies.”
Public interest in Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's every move has reached a fever pitch. Following last year's widely discussed “Kkanbu Meeting” and this year's “Samso Gathering” (a casual get-together over grilled pork belly and soju), Huang has cultivated a friendly public image. At the same time, his activities have been influencing the Korean stock market, prompting the creation of a website dedicated to tracking his whereabouts.
As of noon on June 8, a website called Jensen Huang's Footsteps had recorded more than 125,000 cumulative visitors. The site automatically collects news reports, tracks Huang's movements in real time, and displays related stock price movements, attracting significant attention online.
The developer and operator of the site is 26-year-old college student Yoo Jun-hyuk. Yoo said he was inspired by internet memes.
Speaking with News1, Yoo explained, “There's an internet meme that says when Typhoon Noru approaches, you should buy shares of Noroo Paint because of the similar name. Likewise, when it was announced that Jensen Huang would throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Doosan Bears, Doosan's stock price went up. Jensen Huang has become something of a meme himself, and I thought it would be fun for both me and others to track his movements while watching related stock prices.”
A senior majoring in Software Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, Yoo also works as a researcher at a blockchain research-based solutions company. With exams approaching, he built the website over the weekend during his spare time using “vibe coding” — AI-assisted software development. By delegating much of the coding work to Claude Code and checking progress intermittently while doing other tasks, he completed the project in just six hours.
The website quickly gained traction through social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), attracting not only Korean users but also traffic from overseas, particularly from Chinese-speaking regions.
“I never expected this level of attention, so it's honestly a bit overwhelming,” Yoo said. “But with vibe coding, content development has become much easier as long as you have a good idea. I think we'll see more projects like this in the future.”

As news of Huang's visit spread, the stock prices of companies scheduled to meet with him rose across the board. On June 5, hundreds of people gathered outside a barbecue restaurant near Hongik University Station in Seoul's Mapo District, where Huang held his now-famous “Samso Gathering.”
Regarding the so-called “Jensen Huang fever,” Yoo commented, “Interest in the Korean stock market has increased recently, and it's hard to find anyone who doesn't admire Jensen Huang's success story. Last year's Kkanbu Meeting had a huge impact, and I think that has led to even greater interest in his itinerary during this visit.”
According to reports, Huang's schedule on June 8 included collaboration announcements with SK Group, followed by visits to LG Group, Seoul National University, Hyundai Motor, and Naver. In the evening, he was expected to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung-hoon, as well as representatives from AI startups. Huang was reportedly scheduled to depart South Korea either late that evening or on the morning of June 9 via Gimpo Airport.
After Huang's departure, Yoo plans to publish statistics summarizing stock price movements during the CEO's visit.
“Among engineering and computer science students, Jensen Huang is something of an idol,” Yoo said with a laugh. “It's probably a long shot, but if I ever get the chance, I'd love to get his autograph.”

Glossary:
Vibe Coding
A software development approach in which users generate code by giving natural-language instructions to generative AI rather than relying on rigorous design processes or manually writing complex code. Instead of traditional programming, developers design software through conversational interactions with AI systems.
