• • Short Bio: 

Yoonsuck Choe received his B.S. degree in computer science from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 1993, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer sciences from the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA, in 1995 and 2001. He is a Professor and Director of the Brain Networks Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. During 2017-2019, he led the machine learning lab, and subsequently the AI core team at Samsung Research AI Center (corporate vice president). His research interest is broadly in computational neuroscience, deep learning, evolutionary algorithms, and neuroimaging/neuroinformatics.

딥러닝과 거대 언어모델의 놀라운 발전으로 범용 인공지능(AGI)의 실현 가능성이 커지고 있습니다. 하지만 현재의 인공지능 모델이 과연 인간 수준의 이해를 갖추고 있는지에 대한 논쟁은 계속되고 있습니다. 본 발표에서는 감각운동 학습이 '이해'를 위한 필수적인 기반임을 제시합니다. 더 나아가, 운동 패턴의 다양성이 이해 수준에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 도구의 제작과 활용이 이러한 다양성을 인간의 생물학적 한계를 넘어 확장하여 인공지능의 이해를 심화시킬 수 있는 잠재력을 탐구할 예정입니다.
